Our Instructor
Meet Courtney
Courtney discovered her passion for functional movement while working in a physical therapy clinic during graduate school. This inspired her to further study the human body and movement. She is now a Balanced Body comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor and is certified through the Pilates Method Alliance. Courtney has been teaching Pilates and yoga for nine years, and is honored to share her love for Pilates and intelligent movement with her clients. She meets clients where they are to help them achieve their goals. She has worked with clients from all walks of life; those seeking rehabilitation, new moms, weekend warriors, dancers, those with physically demanding professions, and office workers.
Courtney has had the honor of helping clients with acute and chronic injuries and conditions including, scoliosis, plantar fasciitis, cerebral palsy, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, arthritis, and a multitude of spinal conditions. In 2017, she was diagnosed with a chronic hip condition called femoral acetabular impingement, as well as labral tears in both hips. She has used Pilates, functional training, and movement modification to avoid surgery and return to many of the activities she loves. This process has given Courtney a more personal understanding of chronic conditions and chronic pain, and a greater sense of empathy for her clients who are working through injuries or living with chronic conditions.
